Autopsies confirm both teens died from single gunshots to the head

The two teenagers found dead behind a Roswell shopping center were each shot once in the head, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Officer said late Tuesday.

A delivery driver spotted the bodies of Natalie Anne Henderson, of Roswell, who attended Roswell High School, and Carter J. Davis, also of Roswell, who attended River Ridge High in Cherokee County, early Monday behind the Publix on Woodstock Road. Both teens had suffered severe head trauma, according to Roswell police. Both bodies were found on the ground by two vehicles, which were later towed from the scene, the police report states.

No arrests had been made in the case Tuesday, but police had several leads, Officer Zachary Frommer said. Investigators were reviewing surveillance camera footage from businesses in the area.

Both Natalie and Carter were to begin their senior years of high school, school leaders said. Natalie was a member of the Roswell Color Guard and Carter played football and lacrosse at River Ridge.

The Roswell marching band cancelled Monday afternoon's practice after news of Natalie's death. Late Monday, band director Michael Moon posted a statement on the band's Facebook page.

“Natalie Henderson was a thriving member of the Color Guard — a fun, smart, talented young woman who was loved by so many,” Moon wrote. “Her absence will be felt by each of us tomorrow and for a long time to come.”

River Ridge principal Darrell Herring also released a statement Monday night, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“Carter was an energetic student who was known as a friend to all,” Herring said. “He always came to class in a good mood and with a smile on his face. He excelled in the classroom and was always willing to help out classmates.”
