A former Macon attorney who pleaded guilty to drug charges in 2013 was arrested Saturday after a woman said he attacked her, the Macon Telegraph reported.

Arjun Sanju Kapoor, 46, allegedly had taken drugs, attacked a woman, bound her wrists, choked her, put a rag in her mouth and kicked her, according to Bibb County sheriff’s officials.

The woman told deputies Kapoor became angry as she was going to bed, and “he began yelling at her and told her to clean up the house,” the newspaper reported. The woman said she started cleaning, but Kapoor started hitting her.

Kapoor, who gave up his Georgia bar license after the guilty plea, is charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment, according to the newspaper report. He’s jailed without bond.
