An Atlanta band teacher was arrested in Cobb County after allegedly meeting meeting a teenage girl at a Mableton grocery store for sex, arrest warrants show.

Charles Ladonne Madison, 34, of Norcross, was charged with child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes, jail records show. The victim was either 14 or 15 years old, according to his warrant, and the sexual relationship spanned at least two months.

“It is possible there may be additional victims,” Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk said Friday in a statement.

Madison has been a band teacher at Imhotep Academy in northwest Atlanta for four years, Channel 2 Action News reported. He was arrested at the end of the school day Wednesday.

The band teacher was arrested after the victim’s mother found text messages on her daughter’s phone from Madison, including one asking “how she could get out of the house,” his warrant said.

He’s accused of meeting her at a Publix in Mableton and then taking her to a vacant townhome lot to have sex. Police said the meetings occurred between May 24 and July 26.

The school’s owner told the Channel 2 he is aware of Madison’s arrest and is gathering information about the charges. The outcome of the criminal investigation will determine Madison’s employment status, he said.

Madison remains at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond, records show.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department’s special victims unit at 770-801-3470.
