Atlanta police shot a suspect Saturday night who was fleeing from a strip club where a robbery had been reported.
The incident occurred at about 8:30 p.m., Channel 2 Action News reported. An officer was on patrol in the parking lot of Magic City, located on Forsyth Street in downtown Atlanta, when someone approached the officer about a possible theft that had just occurred, Atlanta police said in a statement.
During the investigation, the officer shot at a white sport-utility vehicle. The SUV fled the scene, but hit a vehicle a few blocks away at Spring and Mitchell streets.
One of the passengers in the SUV was shot in the leg, police said. The passenger was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where police said he is in stable condition.
Channel 2 reported two men were arrested at the scene. Their names were not released.
Saturday's incident comes a day after a man was shot shortly after leaving Magic City. The victim, Michael Verseal, was riding in a cab after leaving the club when when a black Infiniti pulled up next to the taxi on Windsor Street and opened fire, Channel 2 Action News reported. The Infiniti drove away and was last seen heading east on I-20.
Verseal was last listed in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. The cab driver was not injured.
Investigators said the passenger may have had an altercation with the gunman at the club.
