An Atlanta man is wanted by the FBI seven months after police say he and a second man committed a home invasion that led to the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.

Julius Rawls, 30, is wanted in a "violent" January 29 home invasion at a southeast Atlanta home on Marietta Street, according to FBI Special Agent Stephen Emmett. A break in the case came in March 22 when officials arrested Demonte Savalas Mitchell, who remains in the Fulton County jail on rape, sodomy and armed robbery charges.

Rawls is described as 6-foot-2, weighing 225 pounds and having black hair and brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Mitchell and Rawls forced themselves inside the home early that morning while the teenager was inside, according to a police report. Mitchell woke the teen up at gunpoint and demanded the valuables to the home and the combination to a safe.

Police say Mitchell then struck the girl in the back of the head with his pistol and again demanded valuables as Rawls stole items, including a Mac desktop computer,  from the home, according to the report.

The teen was then forced into an office where Mitchell demanded she take her pants off and forced her on top of the desk, according to the report. The girl managed to escape and was headed to the garage before Mitchell grabbed her and sexually assaulted her in a nearby bathroom.

Mitchell allegedly dragged the girl to another bathroom and told her to stay there. Mitchell and Rawls had left the home, but It wasn’t until her grandmother arrived that the girl left the bathroom. The teen was taken to Atlanta Medical Center where she was treated and a rape kit was performed.

The home invasion may not be the only crime the men are connected to that involves the family, according to the police report.

The girl’s father told police he was robbed at gunpoint two hours earlier and a few blocks away from the home invasion. The suspects took his wallet, keys and cell phone, according to the report. The father believes Mitchell and Rawls were involved in that robbery as well.

The father was treated at hospital for minor injuries in the robbery.
