Police in East Point are trying to find a man who they say “savagely” attacked another man and hit him with a pistol.

Deon Dionta Poole, 31, of Atlanta is known to be “armed and dangerous,” the police department said in a statement Wednesday.

Poole is sought in connection with an incident that happened Nov. 29, officials said.

Officials said Poole was inside a family’s home at the time. When a man asked him to leave the home, Poole allegedly began “savagely beating” and pistol-whipping him. No other details were released.

Fulton County jail records show Poole has been arrested multiple times. Poole was previously taken into custody by Atlanta police on simple battery and obstruction charges. In 2006 he was arrested by East Point police on simple battery charges  and by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on robbery charges in an unrelated incident.

In 2012, Poole was charged with aggravated assault, battery, burglary and criminal damage to property by College Park police.

Investigators believe Poole is in the Atlanta area. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call East Point police at 404-761-2177.
