One person was arrested and another is on the run after police say they stole a dog from an Atlanta animal shelter last month.

Leah Zinn, 24, turned herself in to the Fulton County jail Friday and faces a misdemeanor theft by taking charge, Atlanta police Officer Lisa Bender said. Her alleged accomplice, Daniel Whitehead, 43, has not turned himself in.

Authorities were alerted of the missing two-year-old female Yorkshire Terrier mix when the people who had adopted her came to get her, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. The dog was reported missing Feb. 11 from Lifeline’s Fulton County Animal Services.

Video surveillance showed Zinn taking the dog out of a cage and petting it, police say. She is also seen taking the dog out of her purse and putting it inside of her jacket, concealing the dog.

After having been there for about 10 minutes, she and Whitehead walk to a gold or tan Oldsmobile and leave.
