After four months of investigating, the GBI has charged a 22-year-old man in the shooting deaths of a southeast Georgia couple and their grandson.
Roger Owens is charged with malice murder in connection with the deaths of Carson Holliman, 64, his wife Vondell Holliman, 63, and Christopher Holliman, 24, the GBI said in a news release.
The Hollimans’ bodies were found June 18 in their home on Wolfe Street in Brunswick, officials said at the time.
Members of Zion Baptist Church went to the Hollimans’ house to check on them after they did not attend Sunday services, authorities said.
“Actually, (Jones is the) one we’ve been looking at from the beginning,” Brunswick police Chief Kevin Jones told The Florida Times-Union. “We’ve been looking at him from the first couple of days.”
Jones said Owens lived with people around Brunswick recently, and he lived near the Hollimans at the time of the deaths.
The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI or Brunswick police.
