Arrest made in 2010 shooting death at Atlanta recording studio

Nearly two years after a one person was shot to death and three others were injured at a southeast Atlanta recording studio, one man is in custody, according to police.

Brandon Lamar Philpot was arrested Monday and charged with felony murder in the Sept. 28, 2010 death of Aaron Holloway, 33, of Mableton. Philpot, who was being held without bond Monday night in the Fulton County jail, has been jailed numerous times since Holloway’s death, booking records show.

Holloway died after two gunmen invaded a home on Martin Street, near Turner Field, and demanded everyone get on the floor, Atlanta police previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

But one of the people in the home, which doubled as a recording studio, got into a struggle with a gunman and several shots were fired, according to police. Two men were shot and survived, and a woman sustained broken bones as she escaped through a window.

Holloway, a music engineer, was killed. His wife was pregnant with the couple’s first child at the time.

Another arrest is expected soon in the case, Atlanta police Detective David Quinn told Channel 2 Action News.
