When three men wearing masks and gloves lurking near a Roswell drugstore saw a police car early Wednesday, they took off running.

One didn’t get very far from the Wender and Roberts Pharmacy before being apprehended by a Roswell police officer. The other two suspects didn’t make it too hard for police either. They were found at the rear gate of police headquarters.

Around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, a Roswell officer on patrol heard an alarm coming from the area of the store, located on Atlanta Street, Officer Lisa Holland said. The officer arrived to find three men in masks and gloves running from the pharmacy, Holland said in a press release.

After the first subject was captured, additional officers arrived to search for the other two suspects, Holland said. A four-legged officer made quick work of the search, she said.

“K-9 Saar arrived and conducted a successful track to the rear gate of the Roswell Police Department, where the two other suspects were located and apprehended,” Holland said.

Officers found the tools the three suspects allegedly used to enter the pharmacy, as well as prescription drugs that had been stolen, Holland said.

The names of the suspects were not released late Wednesday morning.
