Two people from Rome were arrested Wednesday after allegedly depriving a child under 18 of food and medical care for more than 30 months, the Rome News-Tribune reported.

Joseph Michael Peardon, 26, and Brandy Danielle Gordon, 26, both face a first-degree child cruelty charge, according to Floyd County Jail records.

They live in the 100 block of Rising Fawn Trail, and the alleged abuse happened from March 2016 to October 2018, the arrest warrant, obtained by the News-Tribune, said.

The child was admitted to a children’s hospital in Atlanta several weeks ago, and the newspaper reported that she may have serious medical issues for the rest of her life, according to the arrest warrants.

Peardon and Gordon remain in the Floyd County Jail without bond, jail records show.
