Over the past 18 months, the world has witnessed the calamity inflicted by the pandemic.

Simultaneously, we have witnessed the establishment of public-private partnerships as a response to this public health emergency.

It is important for us to understand that vaccines are one of the greatest success stories in public health.

It is through the use of vaccines that diseases such as smallpox have been eradicated, the polio virus nearly eliminated, and the life-threatening effects of preventable diseases like measles and whooping cough are minimal.

While it is critical to be informed, it is also critical to be informed by credible sources. Today, we know that vaccines have never been safer, and the benefits of getting vaccinated far outweigh the risks.

Therefore, as a Georgian, I am proud that I have decided to follow the science and get vaccinated, and I encourage all my fellow Georgians to be role models in their communities and do the same.
