A 24-year-old Covington woman is accused of running over her boyfriend Monday morning after a fight, according to Conyers police.

Then, she went to a hair salon. But Rashidah Shabazz wasn’t able to get a new style before police tracked her down and arrested her, thanks to help from witnesses.

Investigators believe Shabazz was taking her boyfriend, Michael Milligan, to work when he got out of the car during an argument. That’s when Shabazz allegedly made a U-turn and ran over Milligan on Iris Drive, near I-20, according to Conyers police spokeswoman Kim Lucas.

“When he got run over, I panicked,” Angel Sinkler, a witness, told Channel 2 Action News. “I said, ‘Oh my gosh, she just hit him.’”

Milligan was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was recovering Monday afternoon from non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Shabazz allegedly tried to visit Milligan at the hospital, but was turned away by his family members, Channel 2 reported.

Tips later led police to a hair salon, where Shabazz was waiting Monday afternoon, Lucas said. Shabazz was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit malice murder, according to police. She was being held Monday night in the Rockdale County jail.
