A family of alleged thieves made off with two antique items — and they’re accused of including a child in on the act.

“They just caught us at a great time because we were totally slammed Saturday afternoon during lunch,” Historic Roswell Antiques and Interiors store owner Syrus Taghizadeh told Channel 2 Action News.

Surveillance video shows the family came inside the store and tried to distract an employee, who was carrying a cart with high-end jewelry, Channel 2 reported.

Channel 2's Mike Petchenik reports.

“They didn't get what they came for,” Taghizadeh said. “They came definitely to get real jewelry we have in the cases: gold, diamonds, things like that.”

The robbers instead got away with antique mirrors, costume jewelry and a kid’s puzzle — the last item allegedly taken by a child.

Video also shows the child helping a woman carry out the mirrors.

“The children are getting to be pros at it,” Taghizadeh said, “and they're growing up in society and that's all they know to do. That's the sad part.”

The family left in two blue minivans with out-of-state licenses, making the investigation more difficult.

None of the suspects has been identified, Roswell police said, but they are hoping the video leads to a break in the case.
