A man was arrested last week on charges he stalked and made threats against his former professor at Mercer University, state officials said.

Anshu Patre, 28, graduated from the Macon college about six years ago, the GBI said in a statement. Recently, he allegedly began sending “threatening emails” to one of his former professors, who was not identified.

The GBI took him into custody last Thursday at his parents’ house in Griffin, where he lived.

He faces charges of stalking, terroristic threats and acts and harassing communications, the GBI said.

He remains in the Bibb County jail, according to records.
