Metro Atlanta's spring outdoor festival season will be in high gear this weekend, with events scheduled in several locations. Here's what you need to know if an arts festival or downtown sporting event is in your plans:

Festivals galore:

The Atlanta Dogwood Festival gets underway Friday and runs through Sunday at Piedmont Park. The park will also host the 22nd annual Disc Dog Southern Nationals Saturday and Sunday.

In Cobb County, the Big Shanty Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday on Main Street in downtown Kennesaw, while in north Fulton County, the Sandy Springs Artsapalooza takes place Saturday and Sunday at 6100 Lake Forrest Drive.

Braves-Nationals:

The Braves take on the Washington Nationals this weekend at Turner Field. Game times are 7:35 p.m. Friday, 7:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:35 p.m. Sunday.

Hawks-Heat:

The Hawks play the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Philips Arena.

Dandy forecast:

Dry weather is forecast throughout the weekend, with the next chance of rain predicted for Monday and Tuesday.

Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said highs will be in the mid-70s Friday and upper 70s Saturday and Sunday, with overnight lows in the upper 50s.

It's still sneezing season:

Atlanta's pollen count Friday climbed to 4,054 particles per cubic meter of air, and that count is likely to stay high at least until the next round of rain on Monday and Tuesday.

Abbreviated list of road closures:

"We recognize the large number of people likely to be out enjoying this spring weekend," said Shun Pringle, construction engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. "We absolutely are minimizing our work as much as possible."

There will, however, be double lane closures from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday on I-85 in both directions between Ga. 400 and North Druid Hills Road for sign work related to the new ramps from I-85 southbound to Ga. 400 and from Ga. 400 to I-85 northbound.
