UPDATE [11 p.m.]: Friday night's winning Mega Millions numbers were 41, 32, 27, 69 and 28 with the MegaBall being 12.

ORIGINAL STORY: Growing since July 27 and rolling over 20 times, the Mega Millions jackpot has been bumped up to $420 million, officials said.

Anyone that gets lucky and wins Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot can redeem their winnings in two ways, Georgia Lottery spokeswoman Nia Roberts said. The $420 million prize can be paid out in one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments, or it can be cashed out immediately for about $237 million.

You can watch the drawing at 11 p.m. Friday, right before the Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot has grown to $253 million, rolling over 16 times since Aug. 15, Roberts said. Combined, the jackpots are worth $673 million.

Like Mega Millions, the Powerball jackpot can be paid out either in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or immediately cashed out for $148 million.

It costs $2 to purchase a ticket for either lottery jackpot.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
