Atlanta police are investigating after a MARTA bus with passengers on board smashed into a sedan Monday afternoon.

The wreck, which involved the bus on the 78 route, happened on Cleveland Avenue about 12:30 p.m., officials said. The route was delayed following the crash.

The driver of the sedan and several passengers from the bus were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said.

It’s not clear what caused the crash.

However, investigators determined the bus driver was at fault, Grant said. That driver was not injured in the wreck.
