The body of a 58-year-old man was pulled from Lake Lanier late Thursday morning, about 18 hours after he was last seen working on his boat.
Dan McGrath of Hoschton was at the Sunrise Cove Marina, on Flat Creek Road, when he was last seen late Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. Divers searched for several hours Wednesday before returning to the area early Thursday.
Around 11:30 a.m., McGrath’s body was located in water about 60-feet deep, and in the same area where witnesses last saw him working on his boat, Deputy Nicole Bailes said. Divers were assisted by the Department of Natural Resources and side-scan sonar equipment.
An autopsy will be conducted at the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office. Foul play is not suspected.
