After a deadly shooting in an Athens apartment parking lot on Monday, one suspect was arrested Tuesday and another remains unidentified.

David Rojas Garcia of Hull was arrested at a residence on Hanover Place on murder charges in connection with the death of Saheed Snow, according to Athens-Clarke County police. Detectives are still working to identify his alleged accomplice.

Around 8 p.m. Monday, police responded to a call at East Carver Drive and found Snow with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Witnesses said the victim had entered a car with two other people, then was shot and pulled out of the car by one of the suspects. One suspect ran away while the other drove away in the vehicle, possibly a 2008 Chevy Cobalt or Malibu.

Police quickly identified Rojas as one of the suspects and advised the public of their search.

“Members of the Drug Task Force, FBI safe streets initiative, ACCPD Gang Unit, and Homeland Security Investigations were instrumental in capturing Rojas,” police spokesman Epifanio Rodriguez said.

As the search continues for the second suspect, a Crimestoppers award is available for anyone with credible information on the case.
