A man believed responsible for three robberies and assaults on women in an East Point townhome complex told his latest victims his name and age. And he also threatened to kill one of the women if the other tried to leave, police said Thursday.
The suspect has not yet been positively identified or located. But he told the women his name is Antonio Graves, that he is a 23 year-old father of a 10-month-old baby, and an aspiring singer, Capt. Cliff Chandler with East Point police said.
“We’re exploring that name thoroughly, but we haven’t been able to verify that,” Chandler said.
On Thursday, investigators released the new details in hopes of locating the suspect, linked to three assaults in five days.
In the most recent incident, a security camera inside the townhouse captured video of the suspect, which police released Thursday. A GBI artist on Wednesday completed a sketch of the suspect based on the victims’ descriptions.
Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, two women were kidnapped and sexually assaulted by a gunman who approached them in the complex parking lot. The man then got into the back seat of their vehicle and forced them to drive to an ATM along Camp Creek Parkway before they returned to one of the women’s homes, where he assaulted both, police said.
“He told them if one were to leave, he would kill the other. Period,” Chandler said.
The man also told the two men he felt neglected and knew neither of the women would talk to him if he wasn’t holding them at gunpoint, police said. After the assaults, the man left the townhouse and the women called 911 around 11:20 p.m.
Last Friday, a Creekside High School teacher was carjacked, pistol-whipped, sexually assaulted and forced to go to an ATM, according to police. She was able to jump from a moving car and run to safety.
Officers have canvassed the community, showing pictures of the suspect to residents and reminding them to be aware of their surroundings. Anyone with information on the man is asked to call police at 404-559-6287.
