A tree fell on two vehicles entering an Emory University Hospital parking deck Wednesday morning, officials said.

The tree came down over the entrance ramp to the deck on Lowergate Drive, which is on the corner of Clifton Road near the university’s main campus, DeKalb fire Capt. Dion Bentley told AJC.com. While at least one car is still stuck underneath the tree, no one was trapped, Bentley said.

Debris fell on five unoccupied cars parked on a ramp nearby, according to an Emory University official.

Hospital staff members were arriving for work when the large tree fell just after 7 a.m. According to Channel 2 Action News, two people crawled to safety, and one walked to the hospital’s emergency room to be treated for minor injuries.

One of the drivers is a surgery fellow at Emory, her husband told AJC.com.

Fire crews and Emory University police were called to the scene. The entrance to the deck remained closed at 11 a.m. while county workers cut through the branches and work to remove the tree.
