A second person has died following a weekend crash on I-75 South in Cobb County, according to police.

Donald Walker, 58, of Cookeville, Tenn., was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with critical injuries Sunday after his 2015 Cadillac Escalade entered the center median, continued down an embankment and crashed into two trees, Cobb police Sgt. Wayne Delk said.

Walker “died of his injuries ... this morning,” Delk said Monday afternoon in an emailed statement.

Officials do not know why the SUV drifted off the interstate just before 12:15 p.m. At the time, the vehicle was approaching Wade Green Road.

Front seat passenger Angela Joy Huddleston, 57, of Baxter, Tenn., was pronounced dead on the scene.
