The body of a worker who got trapped inside a concrete silo in Marietta has been recovered.

Cobb County fire spokesman Dan Dupree said the man’s body was found around 9 p.m. Monday at the Thomas Concrete Woodstock plant on Canton Road.

Fire crews earlier told Channel 2 Action News that two workers had been doing repair work inside the silo Monday afternoon when one worker lost his footing and slipped. He was buried under hundreds of pounds of gravel.

The man has not yet been identified.

Dupree said Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials were on the scene conducting an investigation.
