Hours after Roswell firefighters were called to a house fire, a body was found Thursday afternoon amid the rubble, a Deputy Chief said.
The Spring Drive home was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived shortly before 4 a.m., said Deputy Chief Paul Piccirilli with the Roswell fire department. The top level of the home collapsed into the basement, and firefighters were sifting through debris with heavy machinery when the body was located.
“We have one victim,” Piccirilli said.
The victim had not been identified Thursday afternoon, Piccirilli said. An autopsy was planned at the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators have not yet determined a cause of the fire, which destroyed the home.
