Clayton County residents will go the polls Tuesday to elect a new District 1 commissioner.

Former Clayton County school board member Alieka Anderson and Alaina Reaves, who has received support from Fair Fight Georgia founder Stacey Abrams, are competing in a runoff for the seat, which became open after the May death of Sonna Singleton Gregory.

Reaves and Anderson received the most votes of 10 candidates in a special election to fill Gregory’s seat that was held in September. However, neither received the more than 50% necessary to win the office outright.
