Armed man steals over $600 in Gwinnett gas station robbery

Gwinnett County police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who made off with more than $600 last week during a hold-up at a Lawrenceville-area gas station, officials said.
The robbery happened Sunday just before 9 p.m. at a Chevron along Buford Drive, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Hideshi Valle said in a news release.
According to police, the man pulled up his hoodie and donned a blue mask before entering the store with a black handgun and telling the clerk to “give me the money.”
“The male ran out of the store with over $600 after getting the money from the clerk,” Valle said.
Police on Friday released surveillance photos from the crime scene. They said the man ran from the store, but investigators aren’t sure if he got into a waiting vehicle. Detectives are still looking for witnesses and are offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
Those with information about the man’s identity are asked to call Gwinnett detectives at 770-513-5300. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
