In a story published May. 26, 2026, about attribution of a quote in a story about a damaged chemical tank in California, The Associated Press attributed a quote to the wrong official. It was Orange County Fire Authority Division Chief Craig Covey, not TJ McGovern, an interim fire chief of the Orange County Fire Authority.
