One person in a passenger car was taken to a hospital after crashing into a MARTA bus on Peachtree Street, according to authorities.

Five people were injured when a MARTA bus collided with a passenger car Monday morning in Midtown Atlanta.

The crash temporarily shut down multiple southbound lanes of Peachtree Street near the Buford-Spring Connector. Four people on the MARTA bus claimed injury and were checked out on scene, according to the transit agency.

One person in the car was taken to a hospital, and their condition is unknown.

MARTA and Atlanta police are still investigating the crash.

Authorities cleared the scene and the lanes were reopened by 7:30 a.m.

The accident is still under investigation, MARTA spokeswoman Stephany Fisher told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
