County County homeowners say the county is not doing enough to help them after flash floods damaged hundreds of pieces of property.

September 8, 2021 Cobb County: Onlookers overlook the road that was washed away at Fawn Place at East Lake Parkway in Marietta on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021 after torrential downpours of rain overnight brought flooding and damage to the Cobb County area. Residents and emergency officials in Cobb County worked throughout the day, Wednesday to clean up after intense storms and heavy downpours resulted in flash floods overnight. On Tuesday evening, the clouds opened up and dropped more than three inches of rain on much of the metro Atlanta area, Channel 2 Action News reported. In Cobb, the storms brought floods that damaged cars and homes. Marietta was hit with 4.37 inches of rain, which caused storm drains to overflow. “That’s just too much water, too fast,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brian Monahan said. On social media, Cobb residents posted videos and photos of the severe flooding conditions they saw. Some neighbors described their typically quiet, manicured streets as river rapids. In other areas, the water rose so high that cars were partially submerged. Crews worked overnight and into Wednesday morning to pull cars off the streets after the flooding left them damaged.
