Despite increased crime statistics in much of metro Atlanta, Safewise has named three north Fulton cities, Milton, Alpharetta, and Sandy Springs, in their top 20 safest cities in Georgia.

Milton was rated the number one safest city in Georgia with violent crime rates under 1 per 1,000 people for the third year in a row.

Alpharetta ranked number 8, up from number 13 last year. Sandy Springs joined the top 20 at the number 11 spot, up from the 21st spot in 2020.

The data is based on reported violent crime and property crime rates.

According to Safewise, “Georgians show a high level of concern for their safety on all issues we asked about. Of those who responded to our survey, 56% said they were concerned for their safety on a daily basis. Georgia is the second most-concerned state in the nation when it comes to package theft and police violence.”
