The Johns Creek City Council recently approved a $393,854 construction contract (plus $38,065 contingency) with Arco Builders, LLC to add a bathroom and pavilion at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve.
Of the city’s $40M Parks Bond, the city council set aside $750K to make improvements at the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve. Five bond projects have already been completed including renovation of the Farm Museum, construction of a bus turnaround and pervious parking lot, relocation of the smokehouse from Cauley Creek, completion of a Forest Management Plan, and the addition of a bathroom in the Program Barn.
After consulting with the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Board, the city determined this new bathroom and pavilion will have the most positive impact if added in the northern portion of the park next to Warsaw Church where the park lacks restroom facilities.
In addition to benefiting Autrey Mill patrons, the city anticipates residents renting Warsaw Church for events will also find the new amenities to be of great value.
Construction is expected to begin in late November with completion anticipated in May 2022.
