Thanks to declining infection rates, the Aurora Theatre announced this week that patrons will no longer be required to show a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to attend an indoor event. The Lawrenceville-based theatre will still require the use of face masks.
In their recent announcement the theatre noted, “the situation is fluid and subject to change. We hope that conditions will continue to improve, but we will act accordingly as we monitor the data and strategize with health officials.”
Ongoing safety procedures include masks must remain on at all times while inside the building, unless actively eating or drinking. Anyone exhibiting any signs of coronavirus, including but not limited to cough, fatigue, headache, excessive sneezing, or elevated temperature, are asked to stay home. Hand sanitizer will be readily available.
Advanced cleaning procedures have been adopted. HVAC upgrades including the addition of 20 ionization units and outside air intake was increased on the 17 existing RTU’s to provide cleaner, fresher air.
The Aurora is in ongoing communication with Dr. Audrey Arona, CEO and Health Director of Gwinnett County Department of Health and constantly evaluating virus data from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
“We believe that maintaining the health and safety of our community, including our staff, artists and patrons, shouldn’t be a matter of debate or political preference. To that end, we ask everyone in our community to respect these policies.”
