Chef’s House of Gwinnett County failed a health inspection because of several food safety violations of storage and temperatures.
The Chinese restaurant at 3580 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Duluth, had its health score drop from an 89/B to a 34/U during the Nov. 1 routine inspection.
After raw seafood was prepared on the counter, the employee returned to other food activities without cleaning or sanitizing the surface.
Raw frog, squid and shrimp were stored intermingled in the reach-in cooler. Cooked chicken and pork and raw beef removed from its package were together in the walk-in freezer. Also, cooked food was with raw tripe in the freezer.
Several foods in the coolers were left overnight uncovered, and uncovered foods were on the stovetop.
Some foods were not at safe temperatures, a repeat violation for the restaurant. Discarded were duck, pork stomach, pork skin and cooked beef, cooked noodles and shredded cabbage.
Also discarded were cooked containers of rice and pumpkin in the oven because of low temperatures.
Chef’s House will have another inspection in the next ten days.
