Yard sales are the perfect way to get a variety of home items and clothing for dirt cheap. Here are a few tips on how to master the art of yard sale shopping.

  1. Arrive early. Be there before the yard sale officially starts to get first picks of all the undiscovered treasures.
  2. Be sure to bring small bills and change.
  3. Negotiation is the name of the game. Don't be afraid to ask for a lower price.
  4. If the seller won't negotiate a price, leave your phone number and have them call you if the item does not sell.
  5. Keep your eye out for designer items — you never know what you will find!
