Habersham on Laurel Springs
The homeowner: The model home at Habersham on Laurel Springs was on Crystal Ross’ mind for a couple of years as she weighed her decision to move from California to Georgia, where she has family. “Every time I would come to town, I would come here. We watched the neighborhood grow,” she said. “That feeling never changed. It always felt like home.” But the floor plan on the first model was bigger than she desired, so when the neighborhood debuted a smaller second model, Ross decided it was time for her and son Brandon, 19, to make their move. The builder also worked with her on changes, such as installing a built-in intercom system to pipe music throughout the home and high-end bathroom fixtures. The floor plan of the five-bedroom, four-bath home, which had about 3,600 square feet, included the formal living room she desired and space for all of her furniture, unlike other homes she considered. “I was coming from a big house in California and didn’t want to get rid of my furniture,” said Ross, 52, who works in the travel business and purchased the home in October. “To me, that was big, because I invested a lot of money in furniture that I wanted to keep.”
