The Halsteads have date nights in the media room, while a nurse or family members care for Tripp in the home. An autographed "Pay It Forward" poster and other movie items complete the decor.

The media room in Nadine Faison’s basement is her refuge. “That’s my away-from-the-world space. I go in there and shut the door and turn on the TV,” said Faison. “It’s just peaceful and comfy.” Circular swivel chairs from Sam’s Club, a large screen and sconces from Z Gallerie set the scene for the cozy media room. The basement living room of Bob and Ali Van Dillen’s Roswell home is where their family gathers for movie nights or board games. The large sectional from Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet provides plenty of seating, and on the shelves around the TV they have mementos they’ve collected, like Clemson University memorabilia, confetti from championship games and a Travelocity gnome, because Bob sometimes does work for the company.
