The Netflix series “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo” has brought a resurgence of KonMari mania. Dr. Darria Gillespie has expanded on Kondo’s methods to clean up her fridge. Remember to donate any unwanted items after you purge your closets. Not only do donations help those in need, they can serve as a tax write-off for you.

Don't forget to clean out the garage when it comes to cleaning. It's easy to turn the garage into a dumping ground, but resist the temptation and instead, install shelving to store miscellaneous items.

Don't try to sweep the task of cleaning under the rug. Instead, pick up those rugs and take them outside to shake out the dust.

A cluttered closet can seem like an overwhelming task to tackle, but it is essential in getting your home and yourself organized. There are plenty of shelving kits on the market that are easy to install and can make organizing closets a breeze.

Desks in the home should also be relieved of clutter. Buy an organizer or establish a system for incoming bills and paperwork. Most companies accept online payments now, which can help reduce monthly bill clutter. Keeping paperwork organized will also make another dreaded springtime task easier: tax preparation.
