Being single doesn't mean you have to travel alone. There are plenty of companies who cater to solo adventurers.

Not every day with tour groups is scheduled. On free days, you can explore your location with a new friend or two from your group. Bonus: You have someone to take photos of you instead of relying on selfies.

During a trip to Ireland, booked through Singles Travel International, we toured the gardens of various estates. Being part of a travel group means you have someone nearby to take your photo.

During a trip to Ireland, booked through Singles Travel International, we toured the Guinness Storehouse at St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin. We earned certificates showing we learned to pull a proper pint of beer.

In addition to having dinner at the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler (aka Dracula), the trip included a costume party in Transylvania on Halloween.

To visit a temple in Bali, Indonesia, our group was given sarongs to wrap around our bare legs as a show of respect. This trip was booked through Best Single Travel.

During a tour of Croatia - which began with a couple of days in Venice, Italy - we learned Teran (pronounced like tehran) is red wine, or this red wine. Malvasia is always a white wine.This trip was booked through Best Single Travel.
