History: In 2014, when two nonprofit leaders discovered they offer complementary services to refugee families, they merged and formed New American Pathways. The organization provides refugees and immigrants living in the Atlanta metro area a pathway to citizenship.

Did you know: New American Pathways walks with families through every step – from case management and education to English tutoring, legal services and civic engagement. As a result, more than 90% of refugees are working and plugged into other community resources within the first six months of their arrival.

Its motto: The mission of New American Pathways is to help refugees and Georgia thrive.

How you can help: Volunteers are needed for tutoring youth, mentoring adults on their career path, assisting with voter registration drives, administrative support and coaching adults in English at home or virtually. Another way to support new Americans, including newly arriving Afghans, is to donate items from an Amazon wish list or make monetary donations.
