We reviewed written accounts of abortion in Georgia, including historical documents, academic papers and news articles and op-ed pieces in The Atlanta Journal and The Atlanta Constitution. We also reviewed epidemiological studies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and interviewed one of the authors. We also spoke with area historians and local women who lived in Georgia before Roe v. Wade.
