Shop Black Week was in November, but that’s no reason you can’t attend BOSE this month.

BOSE, which stands for Black Owned Spirits Expo, brings the largest collection of black-owned beer, wine and spirits producers to Atlanta on Jan. 18.

“Our goal is to replace the libations that you are used to with high quality black owned products that you may not know exist,” the event’s website states.

In addition to 25 cocktail, beer and wine options to sample, you will be treated to culinary creations from some of the top black catering chefs in Atlanta.

You also will have a chance to shop and network with black-owned businesses in Atlanta, including a nail salon, beauty supply store, movie studio and grocery store.

Black business owners account for about 10% of U.S. businesses and about 30 percent of all minority-owned businesses, according to the US Census. That amounts to about 2 million companies owned by African Americans.

Atlanta’s black-owned businesses range from spas and gathering spots to doughnuts and popcorn.

Your support of black-owned culinary creations doesn’t have to end after BOSE, however. Atlanta is home to at least 13 black-owned restaurants offering everything from red velvet chicken and waffles to Jamaican patties.
