Coronavirus event cancellations in and around metro Atlanta

As news of the coronavirus continues to develop, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution remains committed to monitoring events, festivals, venues, and things to do in metro Atlanta that are canceled or changed. Below is a running list of events in and around the city that have altered because of a response to coronavirus concerns.

Alliance Theatre: Tony-winning local theatre suspends performances for remainder of 2019-20 season

American Marketing Association:  All AMA Atlanta events in March and April are postponed.

American Society on Aging: Organizers cancel Atlanta conference

Ameris Bank Amphitheatre: Styx concert pushed to June

Atlanta Botanical Garden: Closed through April 30

Atlanta Dogwood Festival: The annual Piedmont Park gathering has been postponed

The Atlanta Fair: The annual event in the Grey Lot at the former Turner Field has suspended operations

Atlanta Film Festival: Originally scheduled to begin April 30, the fest has been postponed

Atlanta Food & Wine Festival: The May culinary gathering has been postponed

Atlanta History Center: Most public events and programming canceled or postponed through April. Museum is closed for now.

Atlanta Humane Society: Run for the Rescues event has been rescheduled

Atlanta Motor Speedway: Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama has been postponed

Atlanta Opera: The company has postponed the season’s final shows

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra: All performances through May 11 canceled or postponed

Atlanta Symphony Hall: Alicia Keys’ book appearance postponed

Aurora Theatre: “On Your Feet!,” the musical that tells the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan, has temporarily closed. Re-opening date of the theater to be announced

Avondale Estates Events: All public events that were permitted by the city for the remainder of March and April will be postponed or canceled

Bloody Mary Festival – Atlanta: Postponed. The new date is Sunday, July 26, 2020 (at the same venue).

Bobby Dodd Stadium: BTS postpones North American tour, including May Atlanta date

Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival: The festival and a 5K race scheduled for a week earlier, will no longer happen

Buckhead Theatre: Most April shows have been postponed or canceled

Buford: 2020 Spring Juried Art Exhibit Tannery Row Artist Colony reception postponed

Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park: Big Boi’s inaugural ‘Kryptonite Festival’ moved to 2021

Center Stage: Many April and May dates canceled or postponed

Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon: Canceled due to coronavirus concerns

Children’s Museum of Atlanta: Closed until further notice

City Springs Theatre Company: Remaining performances of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” have been canceled

City Winery: The Atlanta location will be closed indefinitely, along with the other branches around the country

Cobb cities: Kennesaw and Smyrna cancel events and some public meetings

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre:  UPDATE: The venue remains closed until further notice

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre: George Lopez comedy show scheduled for March 14 has been postponed until May 29. 

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre: “Baby Shark Live!” on April 23 has been postponed, new date Oct. 11

Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre: Ringo Starr shifts tour to 2021

Cobb Galleria Centre: Several events have been canceled, including the Model Train Show and Atlanta Home Show.  UPDATE

Eddie’s Attic: The Decatur music venue is closed until further notice

Fernbank Museum: As of Sunday, March 15, the museum will be closed. Reopening TBA. 

Fox Theatre: “Hamilton” postponed, other Fox shows postponed or canceled for most of April and May

All shows and venue tours postponed until at least March 28

Freaknik Festival: Dates moved from June to Sept. 18-20

Georgia Aquarium: The Georgia Aquarium is closed to the public until further notice, get updates at

Georgia colleges and universities: Many schools have canceled commencement ceremonies

Georgia Ensemble Theatre: All April performances have been canceled

Georgia River Network: The Spring on the Satilla river adventure has been postponed until fall

Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech Cognitive Aging conference postponed

Great Wolf Lodge: All resorts closed until May 19

High Museum of Art: The region’s premiere museum, is closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic

Infinite Energy Arena: James Taylor, Jackson Browne tour postponed

Infinite Energy Arena: Reba McEntire postpones tour until summer

Infinite Energy Arena: Disney On Ice presents Worlds of Enchantment has been canceled, along with all other April events

Infinite Energy Arena: Camila Cabello postpones Sept. 23 concert (and tour). 

Inman Park Festival: The annual spring festival has been postponed, possibly canceled

Kenny Chesney postpones: Mercedes-Benz Stadium show among rescheduled dates 

King National Historical Park: All buildings within the park closed until further notice

Mac and Cheese Festival: Edgewood has moved its annual Mac and Cheese Festival to this Oct. 24 due to COVID-19.

Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta: Closed “until we are advised that it is safe to open”

The Masquerade: All events at the Underground Atlanta music venue have been “suspended for an indefinite period”

Mercedes-Benz Stadium: Justin Bieber postpones spring, summer tour dates

Milton's Parks and Recreation: All programs, as well as indoor and outdoor facility rentals, have been called off until at least April 16.

Momocon: The annual anime and gaming fest is exploring new dates

National Center for Civil and Human Rights: Closed temporarily starting Friday, March 13

Ponce City Market: The retail, restaurant and events space is closed

Record Store Day: The spring retail push for indie record stores moves to summer

Rescue Dog Games: The Piedmont Park canine gathering is postponed until fall

Rialto Center: “The Capitol Steps” March 28 performance is canceled, updates online at

Rolling Stones: The venerable rock legends have canceled their tour, including a date at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center: April events and some in May have been canceled or postponed

2020 SAUPO Conference: Postponed April 10 event due to COVID-19 concerns

Shaky Knees, Shaky Boots: The two spring music fests alter schedule, one postponed, one canceled

Southface: The April 3 Sustainable Atlanta Roundtable is canceled. The Greenprints Conference has been rescheduled for June 3-4 at Georgia State University.

South Fulton: Local governments postpone, cancel events

Southwest Arts Center: ‘What About Carmen’ planned for Sunday, April 5 at 2:30pm has been canceled.

State Farm Arena, André Rieu: Reschedules Atlanta concert for 2021

State Farm Arena, Gabriel Iglesias: Several dates on the comedian’s tour have been postponed, including Atlanta UPDATE: Now rescheduled for December

State Farm Arena, Erykah Badu and Common: Concert has been rescheduled

State Farm Arena, Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash: Moved to October

State Farm, Millennium Tour: The Bow Wow and Omarion-led tour has postponed its April date to summer

State Farm Arena, No Limit: The Master P led show reschedules May date

State Farm Arena, Roger Waters: “This Is Not a Drill” tour has been postponed until 2021

Sweetwater 420 Fest: The annual April music and brew gathering is canceled for 2020

Synchronicity Theatre: All performances canceled through April

Tabernacle: Shows through April 24 canceled or postponed

Tellus Science Museum: The museum will remain closed until further notice

V-103 Live: The March 28 concert at State Farm Arena has been postponed

Variety Playhouse: All concerts scheduled through the end of May have been postponed or canceled

World of Coke:  The downtown attraction is closed until further notice

The World Natural Hair and Healthy Lifestyle Event: Taliah Waajid World Natural Hair Show is being postponed. Guests can opt to have their tickets transferred to another event in September.

Zac Brown Band: Zac Brown Band cancels all 2020 tour dates 

Zoo Atlanta: Zoo Atlanta closed until further notice
