"The Sopranos" prequel movie will be released in September 2020, Variety reported.
The film, to be called “The Many Saints of Newark,” will debut Sept. 25, 2020, more than 13 years after the HBO series ended, according to the website.
The film, which will feature younger versions of the series' characters, will be set in 1960s Newark, New Jersey, when tensions between Italian-Americans and blacks led to the 1967 riots in the city, People reported.
"The Sopranos" aired on HBO from 1999 to 2007.
The cast will include Alessandro Nivola, Vera Farmiga, Ray Liotta, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll, Billy Magnussen, and John Magaro, Variety reported.
Michael Gandolfini, the son of the late "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini, will play a younger version of his father, People reported.
