A monument dedicated to singer Leon Russell will be unveiled in Tulsa on Saturday.

Russell, who grew up in Tulsa, died in his sleep in Tennessee on Nov. 13, 2016. He was 74.

Russell was known for his mixture of rock ‘n’ roll, bluegrass, folk, country and blues during his 60-year career. His signature hits included “Tight Wire,” “A Song for You,” “Lady Blue,” “This Masquerade” and “Delta Lady.”

The dedication event will begin at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, where Russell is buried

Nearly $50,000 was raised through GoFundMe by the committee responsible for the monument.
