HAPEVILLE

“Men in Black 3” at Hapeville Football Stadium

This free outdoor movie series ends with the 2012 sci-fi popcorn flick “Men in Black 3.” As stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin help amp up some action on the massive portable screen, guests are invited to relax in lawn chairs or sprawl on blankets brought from home. Although the film was originally PG-13, the organizers are screening an edited, more family-friendly version. Everyone’s invited to arrive at 7:30 p.m. for games, a bouncy house and DJ music. The movie begins at dusk. If it rains, everything moves into the Hoyt Smith Center gym.

7:30 p.m. June 21. Free. Hapeville Football Stadium, located behind Hoyt Smith Center, 3444 N. Fulton Ave., Hapeville. 404-669-2100, www.hapeville.org.

LAWRENCEVILLE

Aurora Swing Nights: Rock, Roll & Remember at Aurora Theatre

Call them a virtual jukebox, but you don’t have to feed quarters into the 17-piece Metro Jazz Club to get them playing a hodgepodge of rock ’n’ roll oldies. All it takes is a ticket to this edition of the Aurora Swing Nights series, which has become a summertime tradition. Band leader Gary Dalton and the group serve up a buffet of tunes beginning with the Big Band era and bopping all the way to funk and rock favorites from the ’70s and ’80s. Vocalists Jason Joines, Amanda Richards and Michael Stiggers are set to sing, as is the evening’s hostess, Ann-Carol Pence.

8 p.m. June 22. $18. Aurora Theatre. Free parking at 153 Crogan St., Lawrenceville. 678-226-6222, www.auroratheatre.com.

DULUTH

Billy Joe Shaver at Eddie Owen Presents at Red Clay Theatre

Johnny Cash reportedly called Shaver his favorite songwriter. A more than reputable endorsement for sure, but the outlaw country tunesmith has never achieved superstar status. Yet a slew of other superstars, including Cash, have recorded his music, from Elvis Presley to Willie Nelson. Shaver, who wrote “I Been to Georgia on a Fast Train,” may not be hitting the rails this time around, but he’ll be arriving in time to give fans a taste of his expansive songbook in an intimate setting. Grace & Tony open.

8 p.m. June 21. $20 advance; $25 at the door. Red Clay Theatre, 3116 Main St., Duluth. 404-478-2749, www.eddieowenpresents.com.
