Atlanta Ballet gets spacious new headquarters

The Atlanta Ballet will unveil its new facility on Marietta Street to the public Aug. 14-15.

A public grand opening will be held Aug. 14-15 for the new Atlanta Ballet and its Centre for Dance Education facility. Atlanta Ballet is projected onto the area above the receptionist in the lobby.

Nearly doubling the space of its current Midtown facility, the new headquarters are in the renovated 1955 Hotpoint appliance plant. It is the country's first arts headquarters to achieve LEED gold certification.

The $10.9 million Michael C. Carlos Dance Centre includes five full-size dance studios, a physical therapy suite, student library, costume shop, dressing rooms for the professional company and students, scenery storage, box office and boutique.
