Gwinnett County Public Schools is inviting parents of students who receive special education services to a back-to-school Zoom session on Tuesday.

The registration deadline is noon Monday. The sessions will be held Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m.

The session is titled “Starting the New Year on a Positive Note.” Parent mentors Dawn Albanese and Jackie McNair will speak about communication, daily routines, record keeping and other, according to an article in Communiqué, the school district’s newsletter.

Gwinnett County Parent Mentors work within the school system’s special education department to provide information and support to families.

Tuesday’s event is part of a monthly series for families of children with disabilities. Parent mentors run the series along with other special education staff, community leaders and organizations. Spanish interpretation services are available.
