Atlanta-based Wendy's/Arby's Group announced Tuesday an agreement with Saudi Arabia-based Al Jammaz Group to build 135 dual-branded restaurants in nine countries in the Middle East and North Africa during the next decade.

It marks the first agreement with an international franchisee to build dual-branded Wendy's and Arby's restaurants since the formation last September of Wendy's/Arby's Group.

A subsidiary of Al Jammaz Group is scheduled to open the first of these restaurants in Saudi Arabia by early 2010. In a press release, Wendy's/Arby's Group said dual-branded restaurants are an important part of its international strategy and growth plan.
