The vest is back in style, at least at Walmart.
Walmart has unveiled a new dress code for its massive workforce, and some employees are sounding off on social media about the changes they feel are unfair.
Business Insider reports that the new dress code for Walmart associates permits navy blue or white collared shirts, paired with khaki or black pants, capris and skirts.
Skorts are acceptable as well.
In addition, Walmart associates will be required to wear a Walmart-branded vest. Walmart is paying for the vests, but the purchase of other work clothes is the responsibility of the employee.
It is the cost that has some Walmart employees complaining. The mainly part-time, minimum wage workforce claim they can't afford to buy new clothes, even with an employee discount. Gawker posted Walmart's blog post about the new dress code, along with comments from irate employees.
Walmart spokesman Kory Lundberg said the company is eager to hear employee feedback about the new dress code.
The new dress code is set to go into effect on Sept. 29.
